I just arrived back in Los Angeles from a great trip to Nashville where we shared the film with many great contacts and music business friends. We received an overwhelmingly positive response to both the film and Jonathan’s music. We will be following through with the connections that we made beginning early next week. I’m expecting to share some great news for distribution and management shortly.
Nashville is always kind, friendly and hugely talented… I love it. I ate my fair share of Fried Chicken Tacos, Collard Greens, Okra and Sushi with Whipped Cream, Cherries and Bananas… sadly these are all very hard to find here in California.
While in Nashville, I became aware of the struggles to retain “Music Row” and the real history of the music business there. Sadly, Ben Folds has lost his studio that was formerly the RCA Studio A room that has recorded much of Nashville’s greatest songs. I worked in that room in the 1980s and it has a really great sound. Sorry to see it go.
I became part of Music Industry Coalition, or MIC, a collective of caring individuals and music industry veterans with the goal of preserving the history of Music Row. I hope to support the history of Music Row by helping to capture the history through telling the real stories of the producers, engineers, label heads, artists and musicians.
Contact me if you are interested in being a part of this.
Please continue to share the film with your friends and family and help us get the word out. We are streaming the film for free through August.
